A brilliant but erratic engineer is nearly torn to pieces by sabotaged drilling equipment. A simple act of defiance against the oppressive Conglomerate becomes a call to revolution. Families are torn apart and sent to prison work camps by a paranoid governmental leader. These are the challenges facing the people of the once idyllic but now devastated planet of Pa'Kevutu. The crew of the first explorer sunship, the Constantia, are sent on a controversial mission to distract the rebels and offer hope to the Kevutians whose lands are overpopulated and whose resources are nearly depleted. Instead of discovering precious minerals, however, they find a race of humans living there. The Kevutians decide to carry on with their mission to plunder the new planet. With only a fleet of small defenseless ships and a great deal of determination, the inhabitants of the planet of Pa'Chot decide to defend themselves. The war for the control of the collection of asteroids known as The Milleran Cluster begins.
