World Health Organisation estimates the global prevalence of cancer at 14 million cases, with an incidence of 10 million and 6.2 million deaths. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide and its incidence increases with increasing industrialization and development of the country. In Europe about 250,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Colorectal cancer requires a multidisciplinary approach with specialized research teams and optimizing knowledge and technology developments ranging from the primary health care to digestive and nuclear medicine.
